SkinPen – The World’s Best Microneedling

Read to find out why!

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is an advanced skincare treatment that uses very fine needles to create tiny, controlled channels in the skin’s surface. These micro-channels stimulate the skin’s natural healing processes, including collagen and elastin production. The goal is to improve skin texture, reduce hyperpigmentation and scars (such as acne scars), as well as diminish wrinkles and increase overall radiance.

Types of Microneedling?

Standard Microneedling: This method involves using Skin Pen, which is Health Canada and FDA approved.  This device is made of fourteen stainless steel surgical-grade needles validated for sharpness, durability and penetration depth to puncture the skin, promoting collagen production which improves skin texture, reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. It’s noted for being relatively affordable and minimally invasive, with little to no downtime

PRP Microneedling: This technique enhances standard microneedling by incorporating Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) derived from the patient’s own blood. PRP is rich in growth factors that aid in tissue repair and collagen production, intensifying the rejuvenating effects of microneedling. It’s particularly beneficial for enhancing skin texture, reducing scars, and improving overall skin tone.

RF Microneedling: Combining microneedling with Radiofrequency (RF) energy, this method delivers heat deeper into the skin layers, further stimulating collagen production and tightening tissues. RF microneedling is effective for addressing more advanced signs of aging such as sagging skin, deep wrinkles, and acne scars. However, precise application is crucial to obtain optimal results.

Common Questions!

  1. Benefits: Collagen stimulation, improved skin texture, scar and hyperpigmentation reduction, pore size reduction, and enhanced absorption of skincare products.
  2. Frequency: 3 treatments 4 weeks apart for optimal results, with standard microneedling suggested every 6-12 months for maintenance.
  3. Safety: Safe when performed by trained professionals, but precautions are necessary for those with certain medical conditions.
  4. At-Home Devices: While available, professional treatments are highly recommended due to their ability to reach deeper skin layers and ensured safety and efficacy. Our devices are only sold to medical health professionals and are not available for at-home uses.
  5. Pain and Recovery: Discomfort is minimized with topical anesthetic, (applied at the beginning of your appointment) and recovery involves mild redness and slight swelling, typically resolving within a few days. Sun protection is highly recommended after treatments.

Microneedling is an incredible valuable tool and the ultimate strategy for skin rejuvenation, the benefits of this treatment are magnified when integrating it into a comprehensive skincare regimen, alongside proper medical skincare products like vitamin C serums and retinol to enhance results and maintain skin health.
